Child Care Food Program
The U.S. Department of Agriculture Child Care Food Program is part of the National School
Lunch Act which benefits pre-school and school-age children by ensuring they receive nutritious
meals. The Planning Council sponsors the Child and Adult Care Food Program in over 3,600
family day care homes in Virginia and Maryland.
Qualified providers who enroll in the program receive:
- reimbursement for nutritious meals served to children
- training in nutrition and child care
- monthly newsletters with information, menu ideas and helpful hints
- access to a resource center
- access to the Food Bank
- Master Menu Program
