Emergency Assistance (TANF)


Emergency Assistance (EA), under certain conditions, federal regulations permit the use of Aid to Families with Dependent Children (TANF) funds to provide emergency assistance to needy families with children who may not meet the eligibility factor of deprivation of parental support.

Assistance must be authorized during a period not to exceed 30 consecutive days in any 12 consecutive month period and cover needs such as food, clothing, shelter, or repair or replacement of essential household items which result from:


EA is also available for families who's income is lost due to severe weather or energy shortage
