Technology Grant Awarded

The Memorial received a much needed $7,500 technology grant this past spring which provided the Memorial with an in-house reprographic and design work center. The grant has allowed the memorial to better serve the public by enhancing the curatorial, archival and education production capabilities and has significantly improved the quality of our products. The equipment includes an HP color laser jet 5500 DTN printer, Scanjet 5550 and photosmart 7550 printer, all of which was installed in July. The system was first used for the Korean and American Friendship where we printed colored flyers for advertising, colored pictures for the exhibits and children’s activity sheets. A tremendous amount of time was saved. The system also will be able to provide high quality reproduction photographs for educational outreach programs and researchers, preserve historical documents and other materials through less wear and tear in the duplication process and will greatly enhance our quality of exhibit presentation.
