William McGehee Wallace Memorial History Room

The William McGehee Wallace Memorial History Room houses a collection of materials including books, maps, and artifacts for use in historical and genealogical research with emphasis on the City of Chesapeake and the surrounding areas of Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. The Wallace Room contains Virginia census records from 1790 to 1920. Census microfilm form other states may be ordered through the Reference Department for a small fee.
