Pre-Season Comedy: September 4 - October 4
Held Over Until October 10!
Laughter On The 23rd Floor by Neil Simon

Hampton Roads Premiere - Our preseason offering is written by one of America's funniest and most prolific playwrights - Neil Simon. It was in the 1950's that Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows brought together the greatest collection of comedy writers to assemble in one room. These comic giants included Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Larry Gelbart, and a young Neil Simon. Now, some forty years later, Neil Simon recreates the mayhem, neuroses, nonstop gags, and constant one-upmanship of this brilliant team of comic writers. Neil Simon's newest comedy is a funny bone, laugh-a-second tribute to these comic geniuses.

"Flat out hysteria! A must see!" - WABC-TV
"Comedy comedy all the way!" -Time
"Uproarious! Neil Simon's show of shows!" - NBC-TV

Neil Simon Pic About the Author: "If Broadway ever erects a monument to the patron saint of laughter, Neil Simon would have to be it," wrote Time magazine. The movies and television might consider America's most prolific and popular playwright a patron saint as well. He has written 28 plays and holds the record for the greatest number of hits in the American theater. He has had more plays adapted to film than any other playwright, and additionally has written nearly a dozen original film comedies. He helped define television comedy during the medium's legendary early days. In the theater, at the movies, and at home he has kept America laughing for more than 40 years and has been rewarded with four Tony Awards, two Emmys, a Screen Writers Guild Award, and a Pulitzer Prize.
